Water is a major component
of all living things

Water structure

The importance of water is apparent as it participates directly or indirectly in all metabolic processes in living organisms. It is considered the universal solvent due to being able to dissolve in many substances. As a solvent, it serves as a transport medium for mineral nutrients from the soil, as well as in the translocation of organic substances within the plant. It is a chemical reactant in photosynthesis and hence vital to life

Agricultural water comes form a variety of sources.

Typical sources include:

  • Surface waters

  • Rivers, streams and irrigation ditches

  • Groundwater from wells

  • Rainwater - locally collected water such as cisterns and rain barrels

Water test

Water tests have been carried out showing the interesting outcome of the application of effective microorganisms on the structure of water. In the test distilled water was frozen with and without the application of effective microorganisms. The pictures below show the significant change of form when effective microorganisms are applied.

Image 1 shows a frozen water drop before effective microorganisms have been applied.

Image 2 shows a frozen water drop after effective microorganisms have been applied.
